A post Omega museum delight

Silly me, I had failed to notice that Omega has a tourbillon

And until I looked at it under a loupe in person I had no idea of its absolutely unique secret

Focus if you will on the tourbillon and you will see their version of the George Daniels co-axial escapement with its truly unique escape wheel

Only place I know that you can watch it dance in person - I highly recommend seeing it

Here’s their photo as I couldn’t do it justice with my iPhone

One of a kind, close up.

Art, given the choice would you pick this one or an older automatic?

I like manual movement and its finishing of the current model, but in my opinion toubrillon opening is disproportionally small comparing to case size. Plus the dial of the new one looks a bit austere to me, comparing to amazing guilloche of the original.

Astute question! Yes, if I could have any Omega central . . .

. . . it would be the second generation blue gold dial variant that Dje recently acquired. [watch and photo credit: Dje, 2023] Aesthetically sublime; it evokes the essence of time like no other. The level of technical advancement the current manual wind c...

An outstanding Omega.

All's good here, Ben. And still planning on moving up your way . . .

Is it lack of money or lack of skill at larceny?

 By: cazalea : April 16th, 2024-21:06
Or just too small a pool of candidates for either approach? Because if we planned carefully, in a secret attic or hotel room somewhere, and had enough skilled participants in the job ... That watch is truly astonishing.

Lack of money . . .

. . . plus no experience at larceny.

I recommend …

. . . to go on the road. 50 / 50 split, right? 🤑 ...

Perfect...I will 'beat you' a few times in front of some rubes...
