I've learnt from the best - Pres. Obama - he says nothing of consequence.
How long did it take for the Mods to choose this model? Its always a compromise between watchmaker and commentator. The 10th anniversary is special for PuristS and also the brand, so everybody wants to show the best they can do. Hence the higher price point watches. The model choice is also a compromise between supply and demand. The most popular may not be the quickest production. The Collection Villeret 1858 range is not that big, so choice of model was relatively quick. Final dial choice took forever
Were there other MB pieces that competed for the 10th anniversary? Surely not....its the best for PuristS! Chronometric Competance, Horological History and Elysian Excellence. Focus on the chronograph traditon at Villeret plus the quirky PuristS things like the hand made spiral (hairspring with Philips curve), grand feu fired enamel, snail coil timing scale etc.
How were the "specific brands" chosen to represent PPro? No comment
How much lead time did PPro need to give each respective brand to come up with a SE? Would I be far if if I guessed 12-18 months minimum? Brands want 10 years notice (joke) but seriously, some are making herculean efforts with the shorter notice we gave.
