Unfortunately I think at this point we have seen way too many royal oak perpetuals .... The dial is nice but not especially original. It is blue, it sparkles, fine. I am sure the weight of the white gold feels great. It would have been a killer watch 10 years ago, now - I couldn't care less.

Girard Perregaux: If we were wondering - was it a genius plot to run GP into the ground so that the management can purchase it for pennies?
The answer is ... Anyway, thankfully plenty of beautiful neo vintage pieces out there.

I love traveling with this one - it is special but most people have no idea what it is, so surprisingly under the radar.

Cartier: Honestly - even though I absolutely love the dial, I think the case lacks the elegance of the Cintree or other cpcp / privee pieces.
It is a nice watch, but for me a bit of an outlier.

Independents: I have tested the Romain Gauthier continuum - no issues!
But this one is a bit more complicated ... Seriously - I really meant non dress chronograph. I don't think one should compare the sequential evo to say the datograph or PP5070. Completely different animals, spectacular in their own way.
